Mouthful
I don't really know how I feel about this one. It was disturbing, and I couldn't help connecting her uncontrollable eating to binge eating disorder. That feeling of wanting to stop but somehow not being able to. I found it especially sad how her sister continued caring for her, even after she'd eaten part of her cheek. It made me wonder how much someone can endure out of love.
Something I am noticing throughout this collection is how normal all these bizarre things seem to be in the characters' worlds. Nobody really questions the impossible. They just learn to live with it, although people can still be incredibly cruel about it.
I think I wanted more from this story. I wanted to know what happened with the man, to understand her relationship with her sister, and maybe just get to know her better. It was interesting, but I didn't feel as emotionally connected as I did with the previous stories. Maybe that's what frustrated me the most, I understood what she was doing, but I wanted to understand her.
